Summer Reading 2025: Color Our World

Monday, June 9th - Saturday, August 9th
Get ready for a colorful summer adventure! The Freeport Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program encourages readers of all ages to track their reading progress and meet reading goals.
How do I Start?
Visit the library, pick up your reading logs, and join the fun! Complete your reading log and earn an entry to the grand prize raffle! Fill out additional logs all summer long to win even more prizes! Teachers can contact Youth Librarian Amanda Meyers for information about participating in the program as a class.
Why Join Summer Reading?
Take a Summer Adventure! Immerse yourself in exciting stories, discover distant places, and encounter captivating characters in the pages of a book. Reading offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being, including stress reduction, improved memory, and increased knowledge!
What is Summer Slide?
Studies have shown that children experience significant learning loss in reading and math during summer break. Preventing this summer learning loss may seem daunting, but by engaging in educational activities throughout the summer, you can help your kids prepare for the school year ahead! By participating in the Freeport Public Library Summer Reading Program, you can prevent the "summer slide" and open up a world of opportunities for your whole family!
